Also known as the Dwarf Umbrella Tree, Schefflera arboricola Compacta boasts green, glossy splayed leaves bursting out in bunches, reminiscent of an umbrella. This variety features a plaited stem system with a compact bushy top, contrasting its darker green waxy foliage against the limey supple new growth. A fast-growing plant that can be trimmed into shape, making it ideal as a statement piece in an entrance or hallway.
Please note: Schefflera are prone to stress after a change in location and leaf drop is common. Your plant should stabilise within a few months.
Less is more! Black patches on leaf edges can be a result of overwatering. Allow the plant to almost dry out before watering again.
Time to trim! When pruning plants, disinfect the pruners regularly to prevent disease. Remove long, unwanted leaves at the stem.
Losing the leafage! Rapid leaf loss can occur when relocating the plant. Allow it to settle for a few weeks, and if things don’t pick up, it could be a watering or temperature issue.
