Silver queen has attractive, silvery-green, lance shaped leaves. The marbled darker green colour allows this Chinese Evergreen to tolerate some degree of shade. The leaves tend to grow in an upright manner.
Chinese Evergreens are on NASA's list of air-purifying plants. They are proven to remove Benzene and Formaldehyde toxins present in home environments and help reduce the irritant side-effects to humans.
Aglaonema Silver Queen is a popular variety, often found in design schemes, either used as a feature plant or displayed with a complimentary mix of other Chinese Evergreens.
Horty Hints
Dodge the drought! The Aglaonema requires its soil to be kept moist at all times so try to avoid letting the soil drying out completely.
Time for a spring clean! Use a damp cloth to remove any dust settling on your Aglaonema’s leaves to keep it in tip top condition.
Not feeling too fine! Yellow and brown leaf edges are an ugly result of overwatering. Using lukewarm water, keeping the soil moist but not soggy is the right way to go.
