Chlorophytum comosum Ocean is a compact spider plant, looking a little like Variegatum, with creamy margins and a green centre. It is an attractive, cascading plant, with small white flowers and 'babies' forming on long, narrow stems called runners. Ideal as a hanging plant.
Horty Hints
Tinted tips? Spider plants are sensitive to the chemicals in tap water, use distilled water or even better, rain water, to stop the tips turning brown.
Share the love! Baby Spiders can be pressed down into compost and left to self-root, giving you a second plant to pass on to friends and family.
If brown tips do occur, these can be trimmed away if preferred, but avoid cutting into the green part of the foliage as this will only create more brown further up the leaf.
