Banana Plants provide wonderful foliage as house plants. In most cases, it is the Dwarf varieties that are best suited to being grown indoors, such as this Musa acuminata Super Dwarf Cavendish.
The Musa Tropicana has a compact, symmetrical appearance and large, paddle-shaped leaves. Young plants have maroon or purple blotches on their leaves which often disappear as the leaf matures. They are ideal for sun-rooms, conservatories and garden rooms, as these plants love lots of good light.
Please note, the Musa leaves are fragile and bruise and tear easily, often snapping under their own weight. This is considered part of their charm and new leaf generates extremely quickly.
