Place the plant in its grow pot inside the liner (do not repot in the liner). Check the height of the plant in the decorative planter. Aim to have a gap of approx. 3-4cm between the rim of the grow pot and the rim of the decorative planter.
Place the liner in the decorative planter and push down to the base, to ensure it covers any drainage holes in the base of the decorative planter.
Push the liner to the internal walls of the planter. If the liner still has pleats or folds or protrudes above the decorative planter, this can be adjusted.
If the liner protrudes above the decorative planter or has pleats when inserted, trim the liner down for a better fit in the decorative planter. Tip: trim down in small increments and check for a flush fit.
After trimming the liner, aim for a flusher fit against the internal walls in the decorative planter. If some pleats remain or the liner is slightly away from the walls this is still fine.
Fill around the grow pot with clay pebbles to hide the grow pot. If the liner is not flush to the internal walls fill the gap with clay pebbles as well.
Add a cover of clay pebbles to the top to hide the grow pot rim and any liner that shows.
Always use a moisture meter to check water levels at the roots before watering. Take readings around the plant and only water when dry/low moisture. Add a dash of liquid feed every other watering during the spring - early autumn.
