Pilocereus pachycladus (also known as Pilosocereus azureus) is a columnar, tree-like, branching cactus, best known for its dramatic, silver-blue skin tone. Larger, mature plants produce white, funnel-shaped flowers which bloom at night.
The uniquely, stunning blue colour and golden spines makes the Blue Columnar Cactus a great interior design choice if you want something a bit special for your colour palette.
Horty Hints
Colour your cactus! The blue and green tones of this characterful cactus will shift depending on maturity and light intensity. Fancy a bluer blue column? Give it more light, and more time to mature.
Take care when handling your Pilosocereus aureus. It's grown those spines because it really doesn't like to be touched! The spines can be sharp enough to pierce some types of glove!
Bright and beautiful! After allowing it the time to acclimatise to harsher direct rays, ensure your Pilosocereus gets lots of bright sunlight to reach its full glorious potential.
