Philodendron are extremely popular low maintenance houseplants with fabulous tropical foliage. They thrive indoors, where their tolerance for shade makes them very versatile for most homes and offices.
There are two main types of Philodendron: vining, which need a support to climb against; and non-climbing, which have an upright and bushy growth habit. The name Philodendron means tree-loving (from the Greek philos and dendron).
There are many varieties, which look stunning displayed as a collection or alternatively contrasting with highly variegated plants such as Aglaonema or Dieffenbachia, or other plants known for their foliage such as The Swiss Cheese Plant or Pothos, all of which are closely related.
