Senecio herreianus - String of Beads

SIZE: Pot Diameter x Total Height
12cm grow pot
14cm grow pot
Size Tip: Fits in a pot with a 12.5cm+ opening

Senecio herreianus is a unique, quirky succulent with intriguing, trailing stems of oval, bead-like leaves, each with a vertical, semi-translucent line running to its tip which assists photosynthesis. Flowers appear on tall, slender stems as small, white fuzzy daisies.

String of Beads plants need room to trail. Perfect for hanging baskets or cascading from shelves. A close relative of Senecio rowleyanus - String of Pearls.

Please note: String of Beads vines are coiled in the packaging by the growers to protect them in transit. On opening, we recommend gently unfurling the coils and teasing apart the vines around the pot. If you rush this stage, you risk losing some of the beads. Let the coils hang for several days before continuing to gently separate the vines (patience is a virtue). Some foliage loss is unavoidable, however they are fast growing plants and will regenerate quickly.

Horty Hints

Say no to those watering woes! The Secencio herreianus is drought tolerant and can often go 2-3 weeks without any additional water, making it an ideal, easy care addition to your home.

A little off the top! If you notice your String of Beads is becoming unruly with long, straggly stems, simply trim to desired length.

No drain no gain! Ensure your String of Beads' soil is well-draining, as excess water sitting on the top can cause the ‘beads’ to turn mushy and die-off.
